《Chemistry and Materials of Cellulose》Symposium by Professor Haisong Qi

At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the third floor of Biofuels Institute of Jiangsu University, at the invitation of Professor Jianzhong Sun, honorary dean of our Institute, Professor Qi Haisong from School of Light Industry Science and Engineering of South China University of Technology and State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering gave an academic report on "Chemistry and Materials of Cellulose" for teachers and students of our institute. The academic report is mainly divided into three contents, namely, "overview of cellulose", "chemical modification of cellulose" and "opportunities and challenges faced by cellulose chemistry". This report systematically and comprehensively introduces the basic scientific problems of cellulose chemistry, how to comprehensively utilize cellulose at multiple scales, strengthening and expanding the functions of cellulose, exploring the process and application, and discussing the technical progress of cellulose detection and analysis methods. Professor Qi Haisong's wonderful report has important inspiration and reference significance for us to fully understand the chemical application and efficient modification technology of cellulose materials. During the reporting period, teachers and students actively participated in the discussion and gained a lot.
