Associate Professor Daochen Zhu published a research paper at ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering
Recently, Zhu Daochen, an associate researcher of our institute, published his paper "Insight into Deprivation Mechanism of Bacterial Laccase for Lignin" online in ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering (Top Journal, IF=7.632, Zone 1), an authoritative journal in the field of engineering technology. Jiangsu University is the first finishing unit of this paper, and Associate Research Fellow Zhu Daochen and Professor Sun Jianzhong are co-correspondents.
Lignin is the richest natural resource of renewable aromatic hydrocarbons in the world, and its high-value utilization is one of the important ways to replace petroleum aromatic hydrocarbons and solve current environmental problems. Laccase, as the key enzyme for lignin biodegradation, has been the focus of research in recent years. Through gene knockout and heterologous expression, this paper proved that laccase played an indispensable key catalytic role in the process of lignin degradation by alkali-tolerant and salt-tolerant Bacillus ligniniphilus L1. The reaction mechanism of bacterial laccase in lignin depolymerization and degradation and transformation of aromatic compounds derived from it was comprehensively expounded by GPC gel chromatography, two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, FT-IR, ToF-SIMS and GC-MS, which provided an important theoretical basis for the application of bacterial laccase in lignin biorefinery. This study provides a new way for high-value utilization of agricultural biomass resources such as agricultural straw and agricultural circular economy.
The research was completed under the support of "National Key R&D Plan-Key Project of Intergovernmental International Cooperation and Innovation Cooperation".
